Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The meeting took place in both face-to-face and extended formats, covering a wide range of topics.
According to the PM’s press office, the discussions focused on various aspects of cooperation between the two countries and the potential for further deepening collaboration.
Garibashvili highlighted the significant history of successful cooperation between Georgia and Israel and emphasized the importance of strengthening their friendship and partnership. He noted that the collaboration between the two nations has consistently maintained a high level.
The meeting discussed economic cooperation. Garibashvili mentioned the dynamic growth of trade and economic relations between the countries. Additionally, he said that negotiations on a free trade agreement between the two nations will commence next year, elevating the partnership to a new level.
The sides focused on defining new areas of future cooperation within the joint Economic Commission, highlighting the positive progress in tourism.
The discussion also encompassed the global security environment and its challenges.
During the face-to-face meeting, Garibashvili extended his invitation to Netanyahu to visit Georgia, while his Israeli counterpart stressed Israel and Georgia share warm relations.
