Georgia exported 13.8 thousand tons of hazelnuts worth $70.7 million between August 1 and December 27, 2020, the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection reported on Monday.
The volume of exports increased by 41% (4 000 tonnes) year on year, while the value of exports rose by $21.5 million (44%), the Ministry stated. Georgian hazelnuts were mainly exported to the EU countries.
The top ten countries are Germany (3 694 tonnes), Italy (3 368 tonnes), Czechia (660 tonnes), Lithuania (379 tonnes), Poland (354 tonnes), Spain (408 tonnes), Bulgaria (322 tonnes), France (274 tonnes), Latvia (106 tonnes), and Greece (97 tonnes).
