Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the Agricultural Scientific Research Center, together with representatives of Château Zegaani LLC, conducted a working visit to the Georgian estate of Leville in France.

According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the visit took place within a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Georgian National Museum, the Agricultural Scientific Research Center, and Château Zegaani LLC. The memorandum aims to cultivate Georgian grape varieties on the Leville estate and promote Georgian winemaking culture internationally.

On the Leville estate, a vineyard of Georgian grape varieties – Rkatsiteli and Saperavi – was planted on approximately 1,000 square meters. The Agricultural Scientific Research Center provides scientific and methodological support, while Château Zegaani LLC supplies financial and material resources for the project.

The estate was also visited by Irakli Kurashvili, Georgian Ambassador to France, who toured the newly planted vineyard. Levan Ujmajuridze briefed the ambassador on ongoing and upcoming work.

“The cultivation of Georgian vines on the Leville estate serves to popularize the ancient culture and traditions of Georgian viticulture and winemaking, while also strengthening historical ties between Georgia and France,” the Ministry stated.
