Georgian gov't focused on protecting national interests, MP Okhanashvili says

Ruling team MP Anri Okhanashvili today said the government is focused on “protecting our national interests,” and the bulk of issues are being discussed with the western partners.

Asked about imposing sanctions on Russian energy products, MP Okhanashvili answered that “if there are resources at the appropriate market price, allowing our country to achieve different energy security through various resources, then those issues will be discussed.”

US President Joe Biden announced on Tuesday that the U.S. would ban imports of Russian oil and other energy products, but would not be joined in doing so by many European allies and partners.
