Georgian FM: Recommendations implemented. Some issues being discussed with Brussels to reconcile expectations

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday said Georgia keeps “very dynamic” bilateral relations with the European Union, “and on the other hand, we are working specifically in the capitals of the EU member states to tell them about the specific work that our country has done toward implementing 12 recommendations.”

According to the FM, “the recommendations have been implemented and there are issues that are being discussed with Brussels to finally reconcile expectations.”

“This procedure is ongoing. We are confident that everyone, including Croatia, will appropriately perceive Georgia’s efforts because of the long-term commitments our nation has made to implementing our ambitious reform agenda,” Darchiashvili said, adding that the Croatian Prime Minister had “specific messages” during the joint press point with Georgian colleague.

“He [Andrej Plenković] gave a favorable evaluation of our efforts,” Darchiashvili went on to say, “I am confident that this huge effort we have made will have a beneficial influence on our European integration in the future.”

As part of the Georgian PM’s visit to Croatia, the Georgian Embassy opened in Zagreb, Croatia’s north-western capital.
