Georgian Dream presents majoritarian council candidates in four municipalities

Georgian Dream has formally nominated its majoritarian council [Sakrebulo] candidates for upcoming municipal by-elections across four districts.

According to party headquarters, campaign events took place in Vani, Tsalka, Dmanisi, and Akhmeta, where Georgian Dream unveiled its slate of nominees: Vazha Kheladze, Nanuli Khinikadze, Irakli Sarsevanidze, and Levan Itiuridze.

“Speakers highlighted the integrity of the candidates and underscored the critical importance of women’s political participation, emphasising that the active involvement of women in local governance is particularly commendable. As part of the campaign rollout, the candidates held town-hall sessions with locals to review completed municipal initiatives and present their forward-looking action plans.

Discussions focused primarily on resolving regional grievances and delivering key infrastructure projects. In turn, the candidates presented tailored visions to drive municipal development and improve social conditions. The interactive sessions provided a platform for locals to voice their immediate needs, with particular emphasis placed on road infrastructure, water supply systems, and the refurbishment of public spaces,” Georgian Dream stated in a press release.

Local council by-elections in Vani, Tsalka, Dmanisi, and Akhmeta Municipalities are scheduled for 3 October 2026.
