Georgian Defense Minister meets US Secretary of Defense

The meeting between Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s main emphasis was cooperation between Georgia and the US in the defence and security sectors.

The Georgian Ministry of Defense (MoD) reports that the Minister stressed how highly Georgia values its strategic partnership with the United States, which provides the opportunity for the country to develop steadily and peacefully while remaining resilient. The meeting went over regional, international, and security threats, including Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine.

According to Juansher Burchuladze, the Georgia-US partnership is based on shared values and interests. The involvement of Georgian soldiers in international peacekeeping operations contributes to further strengthening the relationship.

The Georgian Defense Minister visited Arlington National Cemetery as part of his trip to the US, the most lauded spot overseen by the US Army. Additionally, he has a scheduled meeting at the National Guard Bureau.
