Georgian Defence Minister attends Ramstein-Format meeting in Brussels

The Georgian Defence Minister, Irakli Chikovani, is currently in Belgium, participating in the 33rd Ramstein-Format meeting at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

The gathering, chaired by UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, brought together senior defence officials and representatives from NATO member and partner countries.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov also addressed the attendees.

According to the Georgian Defence Ministry, the attendees discussed the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the urgent military assistance required.

The Ramstein Format was established in April 2022 at the initiative of the United States and will be jointly coordinated by the UK and Germany from February 2025.
