Georgian Defence and Security Committee meet with Turkish Parliament’s Defence and Security Committee

During his official visit to the Republic of Türkiye, Aleksandre Tabatadze, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament’s Defence and Security Committee, together with his delegation, met with Hulusi Akar, Chair of the Turkish Parliament’s Defence and Security Committee, along with other members of the committee.

According to the Parliament’s press service, the meeting centred on the importance of bilateral defence cooperation between Georgia and Türkiye. It was emphasised that the Turkish Armed Forces have provided material and technical support to the Georgian Defence Forces for many years, for which Aleksandre Tabatadze expressed his gratitude to the Turkish hosts.

“During the meeting, Georgian parliamentary representatives discussed the multifaceted cooperation between the two nations. The discussion highlighted security challenges, underscoring the vital role of peace and stability for the long-term development and prosperity of both countries in the region,” the Parliament’s statement read.

It was also noted that active high-level exchanges between Georgia and Türkiye must be maintained and strengthened to further deepen the strategic partnership and enhance regional security.
