Irakli Garibashvili and Viktor Orbán, the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Hungary, discussed topics related to the Georgia-Hungary partnership at a face-to-face meeting in Tbilisi.
Georgian PM hailed the exchange of high-level regular visits that contributed to the intensification of this cooperation.
The Georgian Prime Minister touched on Georgia’s EU integration issue, stressing his country follows an irreversible EU integration path. Garibashvili highlighted that his government ensured an open and inclusive process in the EC’s 12-point priorities’ implementation and expected a fair and merit-based decision from the European Union at the end of the year.
Irakli Garibashvili thanked Viktor Orbán for Hungary’s unwavering support of Georgia.
The PMs summed up the progress of economic cooperation, noting that the 2023 trade turnover increased by 21% and amounted to USD 46,62 million. Irakli Garibashvili stressed Georgia was interested in attracting investments in renewable energy, logistics and tourism.
Irakli Garibashvili and Viktor Orbán also spoke about the dynamics of the Black Sea submarine electric cable project implementation.
“The flagship project initiated by Georgia is vital for realizing the full potential of energy and achieving common goals in the energy security field,” the PM said.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, accompanied by a delegation, arrived in Georgia on October 10. The Prime Ministers of Georgia and Hungary will make joint press statements on October 12.
