Georgian and Azerbaijani FMs Convene at UNESCO Conference

During the UNESCO General Conference, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with her Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov.

According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the discussion centred on the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan and explored opportunities for further deepening their close relationship.

The positive momentum of high-level visits between the two nations was acknowledged. Emphasis was also placed on the progress achieved in trade and economic cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry also reported that both ministers emphasised the crucial importance of establishing lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus while addressing regional developments. It was underscored that stability and security are essential prerequisites for sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the region.

The dialogue also covered cooperation in the context of the Middle Corridor development.

Finally, the Foreign Ministers of Georgia and Azerbaijan reaffirmed their mutual respect for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasising their commitment to strengthening political dialogue and cooperation.
