Georgian Ambassador to U.S. participates in annual America-Georgia Business Council
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the U.S., Tamar Taliashvili, participated in the annual meeting of the America-Georgia Business Council. Georgia’s Embassy in the United States reported on the event.
According to the Embassy, the Ambassador addressed the attendees and discussed the importance of refreshing U.S.-Georgian relations.
The Ambassador also highlighted Georgia’s historically significant role in the development of the Middle Corridor and spoke of the effective efforts undertaken by the Georgian government, which have enabled the country to fully reclaim its position in this regard. The successful Silk Road Forum held in Tbilisi was also mentioned within this context.
Tamar Taliashvili emphasised the importance of President Trump’s Peace Initiative and the role of TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) in enhancing regional connectivity. The Ambassador also discussed the visit of Department of State Representative Jonathan Askonas to Georgia, during which the significance of Georgia’s role in the development of the aforementioned initiative was highlighted.
Addressing the attendees, presenters positively assessed Georgia’s economic state and dynamics. Additionally, the outstanding indicators of Georgia’s economic growth were underscored, including the resilience of the banking sector, positive trends in the service industry and an efficient customs system. The importance of the yet-untapped potential of the Middle Corridor and Georgia’s special role in this regard were also noted.
The meeting was opened with remarks from Mamuka Tsereteli, President of the America-Georgia Business Council. Among the attendees and speakers were Ambassador Philip Reeker of the Albright Stonebridge Group, Giorgi Pertaia, President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eugene Rhuggenaath, Executive Director of Project Finance, Kenneth Angell, and Alejandro Hajdenberg, Chief of the Georgia Mission of the International Monetary Fund.
