Georgia inks contracts for treatment of children with oncologic diseases with partner clinics
Georgia inked agreements with partner facilities for the overseas medical treatment of children with oncologic diseases aged up to 18.
Ekaterine Pestvenidze, the head of the Georgian Solidarity Fund, and the chiefs of Anadolu Medical Center (Turkey), Quirónsalud Proton Therapy Centre (Spain), and Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center – Ichilov signed the document.
Ekaterine Pestvenidze spoke about the program’s benefits, while representatives from overseas clinics presented their facilities.
From July 24, the Georgian Health Ministry will accept applications for the treatment of children with oncologic disorders in foreign establishments.
A special board will assess the applications and make a judgment based on where and which clinic would best suit the treatment procedure.
According to the Georgian government’s decision, all children with an oncological diagnosis will be able to be diagnosed and treated with state funding in leading facilities in Turkey, Israel, and Spain.
