Based on the agreement signed between Georgia and the US Department of State, the Georgian General Prosecutor’s Office extradited an individual wanted under Interpol’s Red Notice to the United States.
The person was wanted in Texas for sexual harassment of juveniles and violence against family members in 2017-2021 and organized crime committed in a group in Louisiana state in 2020-2021.
Tbilisi City Court ruled extradition, and the Georgian Justice Minister endorsed the verdict on December 26, 2023.
“Georgian General Prosecutor’s Office pledges readiness to continue cooperation with relevant law enforcement agencies of partner countries to hold wanted persons accountable before the law,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.
