Head of Georgian Mission to EU: Georgia-EU Association Council bears special importance
The Georgia-EU Association Council will convene for the first time after Georgia has been granted a European perspective, which will be of special significance. During our talk, we will discuss the essential steps in Georgia-EU relations, said Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, Georgian ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Head of Georgia’s mission to the EU.
According to him, this is the highest format provided under the Association Agreement.
“During the session, both sides will discuss all current topics, the political dialogue, and the dynamics in Georgia-EU relations. The Georgia-EU Association Council will convene for the first time after Georgia has been granted a European perspective, which will be of special significance,” Makaroblishvili said.
The meeting will also review the economic relations, the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement, regional security, and the situation in the occupied territories.
The PM-led Georgian delegation will take part in the 7th Georgia-EU Association Council meeting on September 6. During the visit, Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili will hold high-level meetings.
