The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the appointment of Levan Tsurtsumia as Georgia’s new Ambassador to Portugal and Gia Macharadze as Ambassador to Ethiopia.

Levan Tsurtsumia has been with the Foreign Ministry since 1998. He has held various prominent positions, including Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at the Georgian Embassy in Ukraine and the Permanent Mission of Georgia to GUAM. Additionally, he served as Deputy Director of the International Legal Department and has worked with the Black Sea Cooperation Organization.

Gia Macharadze joined the Foreign Ministry in 1996. From 2021 to 2022, he was the Deputy Director of the Ministry’s Human Resource Management Department. Since 2022, he has served as Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at the Georgian Embassy in Ethiopia.
