Georgia and Slovakia sign strategic memorandum to strengthen educational, scientific, and youth ties

A memorandum of understanding has been concluded between the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The agreement was signed by Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze and Slovak Minister of Education, Research, Development and Youth Tomáš Drucker.

The memorandum outlines a framework for expanding bilateral collaboration in education, science, and youth policy, and for executing joint initiatives. Under the partnership, both nations will facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices, foster closer links between educational and scientific institutions, and unlock new academic opportunities for young people.

During their bilateral meeting, the ministers outlined action plans to ensure the effective implementation of the initiatives set out in the agreement. They agreed to establish a dedicated working group to coordinate joint efforts.

Givi Mikanadze briefed Tomáš Drucker on ongoing reforms in Georgia’s educational sector, detailing steps taken to enhance educational quality and cultivate a modern, demand-driven learning environment.

For his part, Tomáš Drucker highlighted the importance of deepening the friendly and cooperative relations between Georgia and Slovakia, reaffirming his country’s commitment to advancing partnership in education and research.

According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Mikanadze expressed his gratitude to his Slovak counterpart for the warm hospitality and formally invited him to pay an official visit to Georgia.
