Georgia and Germany sign agreement on migration and mobility

Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri and German Federal Minister of the Interior and Community Nancy Faeser signed an agreement on migration and mobility on December 19.

The agreement aims to intensify cooperation against illegal migration and readmission of Georgian citizens who violate the visa-free regime. It also contributes to education, internship, and exchange programs for students and specialists.

Vakhtang Gomelauri remarked that Germany’s putting Georgia on the list of safe countries confirms Georgia is a democratic state where the government ensures the protection of human rights and successfully carries out reforms in response to visa-free travel and challenges.
