Georgia and Azerbaijan Interior Ministries ink cooperation agreement
A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the document being formalised by Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Vilayat Eyvazov.
The agreement aims to further strengthen the existing partnership between the relevant agencies of the two nations, particularly in the areas of crime prevention, detection, and suppression.
The scope of cooperation outlined in the agreement encompasses key priority areas such as illicit drug trafficking, cybercrime, human trafficking, illegal migration, and crimes against property. Additionally, the two ministers held an expanded bilateral meeting during which they discussed sectoral reforms, ongoing projects, and the vital importance of sharing information and expertise within the framework of police collaboration.
According to the ministry, the ministers reiterated their commitment to the already fruitful cooperation and expressed their readiness to further deepen and strengthen their partnership.
