Georgia actively works for effective non-recognition policy, but risks persist

“An effective non-recognition policy is the government’s and the Foreign Ministry’s top priority,” the Georgian Prime Minister nominee, Giorgi Gakharia, said at the parliamentary session on Thursday.

In a bid to make the present policy more powerful, the government is actively working with the international partners, Gakharia claimed.

“The Russian Federation is working intensely to damage and doubt the Georgian Foreign Ministry’s non-recognition policy, but in vain so far,” Candidate PM noted.

Speaking of the Abashidze-Karasin talks, Gakharia said this is the only way to discuss economic and humanitarian issues.

“I think this channel should be used even if it is unilateral,” Gakharia added.
