General Directorate for Integration into EU to be established at Foreign Ministry
A new structure will be established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – the General Directorate for Integration into the European Union – Mikhail Janelidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs made the regarding statement at the joint sitting of the Parliamentary Committees.
According to Minister the General Directorate will include departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
“This is a European type structure. For the first time in the history and practice of public services, this is the General Directorate for Integration with the European Union, which includes several departments – including the departments that joined us from the state ministry as well as the departments of the Foreign Ministry. By the merging of these two agencies, a very strong and firm structure will be set up under the General Directorate and it will not be depended on political instability,” –Janelidze said.
