GEL 1.1m rehabilitation of Meria River bridge on Ozurgeti–Ureki road nears completion
Rehabilitation work on the Meria River bridge, located at the 9km mark on the Ozurgeti–Natanebi–Ureki highway, is nearing completion, according to the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. The bridge was in poor technical condition and needed rehabilitation. It is a single-span bridge with a total length of 23.10 metres.
Under the project, the bridge’s technical specifications have been improved. The renovated bridge will have a higher load capacity and a longer span to allow the river to flow freely, and its abutments and river training walls have been built on piled foundations.
The Roads Department confirmed that the GEL 1.1 million project is being financed through the state budget.
