GD's Levan Makhashvili on sanctioning Imedi, POSTV:  TV stations sanctioned for telling truth, this is a fascist approach

Levan Makhashvili, a member of the parliamentary majority, said that sanctioning Imedi TV and POSTV is an attempt to attack free media.

Makhashvili believes that neither Imedi nor POSTV will stop telling the truth.

“This is an attempt to attack free media. Regrettably, this is not the first attempt in the case of Imedi. In 2007, we witnessed how the informal oligarchic government attempted to silence Imedi through Mikheil Saakashvili, and this is a continuation of all this. However, neither Imedi nor POSTV will stop telling the truth. They will continue informing society with double efforts.

Examples are given for why these television stations were sanctioned. From what I’ve read, everything that is written there is true. Accordingly, it turns out that they are sanctioning television stations for telling the truth, which is a completely unacceptable and fascist approach. However, nothing is unexpected in the hands of informal oligarchic rule since they seek controlled media which will pursue the narrative which is in their interests,” he said.

It became known today that the British government sanctioned Imedi TV and POSTV.
