GD's Kadagishvili hopes all opposition parties to run in municipal elections

“Those in the opposition acknowledge that their policy turned out unsuccessful, absurd and damaging,” said Irakli Kadagishvili, a member of the Georgian Dream (GD) party.

Irakli Kadagishvili is convinced that almost all opposition parties alongside Mamuka Khazaradze’s Lelo will run in the local elections.

“They realize that their policy was absolutely successful, absurd and damaging. What did the parliamentary boycott, disregarding their voters’ will and attempts to undermine the country’s constitutional sustainability bring? Nothing! Their past path had no perspective and it is natural why they launched internal talks. I am convinced that almost all opposition parties alongside Mamuka Khazaradze’s Lelo will decide to run in the local elections. They are told from abroad that they are not apt of revolutionary scenarios and therefore they should run in local elections not to disappear forever from the political field,” he said.

According to Irakli Kadagishvili, the GD will decisively win local elections, as it won the parliamentary elections, both in Tbilisi and other municipalities.

The fact is that there is internal competition despite corrections and management from abroad. As time passes, it becomes more obvious that the National Movement has zero prospects. The parties, which were affiliated with the UNM and were called the collective UNM, also have a low chance to form the alternative to the Georgian Dream,” he stated.
