The Georgian Dream political council has announced that a new party chairperson will be elected on May 7.

Additionally, the composition of the political council will be renewed, with the updated team to be approved at the congress scheduled for the same day.

“A session of the Georgian Dream political council was held at the Gorgasali office. During the meeting, members discussed two key issues. They decided that the party’s congress would take place on May 7, during which a new chairperson would be elected. The session also approved the renewal of the political council’s composition, which will be finalized at the congress,” the statement reads.

Irakli Garibashvili, now former chair of the Georgian Dream party, announced his departure from politics on April 25.
