GD Executive Secretary: Key institutions to be led by qualified professionals

“Three seasoned professionals will head three key institutions. Grigol Liluashvili’s term was set to expire in a few months, and, by law, he was ineligible for re-election. In response, the Prime Minister decided to reinforce the oversight of regional management,” stated Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream (GD) party.

Mdinaradze emphasized the government’s ambition for Georgia to become a leading nation in the fight against corruption.

“This decision reflects our commitment to consistently pursue this objective through new leadership. The most important positions will be filled by individuals whose backgrounds and past achievements demonstrate their professionalism and skills, ensuring even greater success in their respective domains,” Mdinaradze added.

Consequently, Anri Okhanashvili will be appointed as the Head of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG). The Regional Development Ministry will be established as an independent entity, separate from the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, with Grigol Liluashvili designated as its head. Paata Salia will assume the position of Justice Minister.
