GD Chairman deeply saddened by casualties of landslide-hit Adjara, Imereti regions

Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, Irakli Garibashvili expressed sorrow over the landslides’ casualties in the Adjara and Imereti regions and offered condolence to the families of victims.

“I express my deep sorrow over the tragedy in the Adjara and Imereti regions. Unfortunately, the natural disaster claimed the lives of several citizens. I offer my sincere sympathy to the family members and relatives of the deceased and the entire society,” Garibashvili wrote on Facebook.

Last night, a landslide hit Nergeti village of the Baghdati municipality in the Imereti region, trapping four houses. Rescuers have recovered four dead bodies, safely relocated one person, and are still searching for five missing individuals.
