Irakli Kobakhidze, the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party chair, vowed that the 2024 parliamentary elections in Georgia will be free, democratic and competitive.
“The practice of total falsification of elections ended in Georgia in 2012. Democratic, competitive elections have been held since, and these elections will also be free, fair and competitive,” he said.
Pawel Herczynski, EU Ambassador to Georgia, on November 21, spoke about the significance of free and fair elections.
“It is for the Georgians to collectively decide how to organize the electoral campaign. We sincerely hope that there will be a level playing field that everyone will have a possibility to participate in an electoral campaign. First and foremost, there will be no violence, because violence, electoral violence are absolutely unacceptable in any democratic country,” he said.
