GD Chair says Georgia proved it not only wants but acts on EU integration path, continues working on nine steps fulfilment
“We proved that we not only want but can act on the European integration path, and in this spirit, we will continue working to fulfil nine steps,” said Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.
The GD Chair noted that the volume of nine priorities was less than the 12-point recommendations. As for the opposition’s joining the working process, Irakli Kobakhidze said that “it was up to them” and this issue was not “of special relevance.”
On December 14, the European Council opened EU accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova and granted EU candidate status to Georgia.
