GD Chair says financing origin should be transparent

“Georgian law distinguishes between a spy and an agent. The Transparency of Foreign Influence bill drafted by People’s Power mentions no one as an agent. It is about physical individuals,” stated Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.

The GD Chair commented on the proposed law, stating that terms are being finalized. The law does not limit the activity of any entity, but society should be aware of their money sources.

According to Kobakhidze, “everything should be transparent.”

“When companies with the word “transparency” in their name act against transparency, it demonstrates that they have a lot to conceal,” Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
