Gakharia for Georgia responds to UNM’s Khabeishvili: such statements undermine progress
“We will not comment on Levan Khabeishvili’s statement. Such remarks undermine the ongoing processes in Georgia. They hold no relevance for our voters,” stated Tata Khvedeliani, the Gakharia for Georgia party member.
Khvedeliani was asked to evaluate the remarks made by Levan Khabeishvili, a leader of the United National Movement (UNM), who claimed, “The government has offered money and other privileges to Gakharia’s party to undermine the opposition and the National Movement across various media outlets.”
In Khvedeliani’s view, opposition parties should concentrate on revitalizing the European future.
“This statement is neither relevant to me nor to our voters, and we will not respond to it. Such assertions detract from the critical issues at hand in Georgia. Our voters expect us to address the plight of unlawfully detained individuals, the revival of our European aspirations, and the violence inflicted by the authoritarian regime against our population.
Thus, we will refrain from engaging with this statement. I cannot speculate on what motivates Levan Khabeishvili. Our focus should be on current events in the country; we must not get sidetracked by trivial political matters that do not reflect the will of our people,” she concluded.
