The Gakharia for Georgia party team convened with a delegation from the United States Congress at Parliament, according to a statement released by the party’s press service.

The party emphasises the importance of continued U.S. support for Georgia and its people.

“During the meeting, the U.S. Congressional Foreign Affairs Committee representatives were briefed on the recent foreign policy developments and democratic setbacks under the Georgian Dream regime, including repressive legislation that restricts human rights, as well as the legislative initiatives and consistent stance of the party’s parliamentary team.

In these challenging times, the United States must continue to support Georgia and its people in their pursuit of democratic advancement and Euro-Atlantic integration. We hope that the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States will be restored, and that with American support, Georgia will be able to resume its irreversible journey towards democratic development,” the party stated.
