GAA Director: Bratislava destination marks vital step in diversifying flight routes at Kutaisi International Airport

“The partnership with Wizz Air continues to strengthen year by year, fostering the development of new opportunities within the Georgian aviation market,” stated Levan Moseshvili, General Director of the Georgian Airports Association (GAA).

He explained that the introduction of the Bratislava destination was made possible through intensive and successful negotiations between the Georgian Airports Association and Wizz Air.

“Adding Bratislava to our network is another significant stride towards diversifying the flight routes at Kutaisi International Airport. Our collaboration with Wizz Air, our strategic partner, is flourishing annually, opening up fresh prospects for Georgian aviation. Bratislava, situated at the heart of Europe, naturally emerges as an important hub for regional traffic. Just an hour from Vienna, it offers exceptionally convenient connections to other major cities across Central Europe. This geographical advantage enhances Bratislava’s appeal as both a tourist destination and a strategic centre of modern air traffic,” said Levan Moseshvili.

For context, Kutaisi International Airport will welcome a new European destination, Bratislava, from January 12, 2026. Wizz Air, Europe’s most environmentally sustainable airline, will operate the Bratislava-Kutaisi-Bratislava route four times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flights will be operated using modern Airbus A321neo aircraft. Tickets are now available for purchase on the airline’s official website.
