French President Emmanuel Macron awarded former Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili the Knight of the Legion of Honour medal on Wednesday.
“Those who made a significant contribution to the fight against coronavirus have been awarded this year,” the French government decree reads.
The Knight of the Legion of Honour (Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur) is the highest decoration in France. The Head of State presented it to reward the most deserving citizens in all areas.
The ruling Georgian Dream party founder and head, former Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, donated 100 million GEL to the StopCov Fund. The fund was created on March 23 in Georgia to cope with Covid-19 related challenges.
