Former President on Trump-Zelenskyy meeting: Not sure if this is a demonstration of "America First"
“I am not sure that this is a demonstration of ‘America First’, it more resembles the US’ being after Putin’s Russia,” said former President Salome Zourabichvili echoing the February 28 meeting between the US and Ukrainian Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to Salome Zourabichvili, currently, everyone needs a strong America along with Europe.
A meeting between President Donald Trump and President Volodymyr Zelensky devolved into a shouting match at the Oval Office on Friday, with the US president berating Ukraine’s leader and Vice President JD Vance questioning whether Zelensky was ready for peace and had demonstrated enough gratitude for US support.
“President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for peace,” Donald Trump wrote on social networks.
