Former First Deputy SSSG Head Lasha Maghradze appointed Deputy Minister of Justice

Lasha Maghradze, former First Deputy Head of the State Security Service (SSSG), has been appointed Deputy Minister of Justice, according to an official statement released by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

“Lasha Maghradze is a lawyer by profession. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Columbia Law School.

During his career, he has held senior executive positions in both the public and private sectors. He brings two decades of professional experience spanning criminal justice, enforcement systems, the judiciary, judicial training, anti-corruption, rule of law, and human rights. He has collaborated extensively with international partners to drive institutional and programmatic reforms across the justice sector.

Before he was appointed Deputy Minister of Justice, he served as First Deputy Head of the State Security Service,” the Ministry statement confirmed.
