Foreign Relations Committee Chair delivers lecture at Korea National Diplomatic Academy

The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, together with a parliamentary delegation, is on an official visit to Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Within the framework of the visit, Nikoloz Samkharadze held a meeting with the President of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy.

According to the parliament’s press service, one of the main topics of discussion was the development of bilateral diplomatic and political relations. Following the meeting, a discussion on Black Sea security issues was held with professors and experts of the Diplomatic Academy.

During the discussion, Nikoloz Samkharadze delivered a lecture. He spoke about Georgia’s security challenges, regional security issues, and Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

“A very interesting discussion took place with the professors and experts of the Korean Diplomatic Academy. I spoke about existing security challenges as well as NATO enlargement. We reviewed the development of the Middle Corridor and its significance. Particular interest was expressed in Georgia’s transit role and economic growth potential. Questions focused on the impact of the ongoing war in Ukraine on Georgia’s occupied territories, the peace process in the Caucasus, and Georgia’s relations with the countries of Central Asia and the Middle East,” Nikoloz Samkharadze stated.
