According to FM Zalkaliani, the Georgian side had a serious work with the partners ahead of the ministerial.
“The NATO Ministerial ended with significant results for Georgia. The Ministerial approved a relevant package, which includes actions in the direction of the Black Sea security. It is necessary to note that Georgia did serious work to achieve such results. Throughout the previous period, we were actively working with NATO partners that were eventually reflected in the results. The ministerial talks about stepping up cooperation with Ukraine and Georgia in the Black Sea, visits of more naval ships, exchange of information, training of staff in compliance of NATO standards, at the same time, NATO will substantially increase its presence in the Black Sea area, that creates more opportunities in the context of the Black Sea security,” Zalkaliani said.
The Minister also drew attention to the declaration adopted within the Ministerial, which is focused on an open-door policy. According to Davit Zalkaliani, Georgia will continue to work with its partners in order “our country’s progress on the path of NATO integration to be appropriately reflected in decisions.”
