For Georgia's Sharashidze: We won’t partner with parties involved in October 4 operation; we have our own path
“We do not intend to cooperate or unite with parties that directly or indirectly participated in the October 4 special operation,” Giorgi Sharashidze, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, stated.
He further expressed concern over the efforts of the Georgian Dream itself, accusing it of expending significant resources to bring opposition parties under the umbrella of the United National Movement.
“On October 4, we witnessed a wholly irresponsible provocation that did not strengthen the opposition. Unfortunately, the only entity that has benefited from this is again Georgian Dream and its autocratic regime. We categorically refuse to sit at the same table with, or unite alongside, those parties that were involved in this special operation, whether directly or indirectly.
Moreover, the Georgian Dream is actively investing considerable resources to consolidate everyone. We will certainly not allow this to become a gift to GD, because if anyone today seeks to unite all opposition parties under the United National Movement’s umbrella, it is the Georgian Dream itself.
We are well aware of how we can, through strategic and gradual efforts, diminish GD’s electoral strength and eventually shift it into the opposition.
We wish all parties success in their endeavours, but we are committed to our own path, continuing our activities with the tactics and strategy we have chosen,” he stated.
