For Georgia’s MP Parulava: Once Mdinaradze was forced out, the tailored cabinet post naturally became obsolete

“The fact is, Mamuka Mdinaradze was not his own master. He lacked the autonomy to decide whether to hold or vacate any office. Consequently, just as he emerged from nowhere, he was sent packing to nowhere today by the decision of a single individual, sent home without so much as a word of advice,” stated MP Giga Parulava, a member of the Gakharia For Georgia party.

Parulava added that he does not rule out the possibility of “Mamuka Mdinaradze sharing Liluashvili’s fate in a few months.”

“We all recall that back in the day, the Regional Ministry was created specifically for Liluashvili. You remember full well the fate that befell Liluashvili. We do not rule out that Mamuka Mdinaradze might share that very same fate in a few months.

As for scrapping this specific ministry, Georgian Dream had initiated the establishment of a State Minister post. We said from the very outset that this was created specifically for Mamuka Mdinaradze, just as the post of law-enforcement coordinator was tailored for him. Naturally, once Mamuka Mdinaradze was forced to quit politics, step down from office, and was sent home, there was no longer any need to craft a bespoke post for him. Consequently, it is only natural that this position cannot be created,” Parulava noted.

For context, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, announced earlier today that the Ministries of Regional Development and Infrastructure will be merged. The planned post of State Minister for Regional Policy will no longer be established.
