For Georgia's MP Parulava emphasises May 26 as Day of National Unity and shared celebration

“For us, May 26 is a day of national unity and societal cohesion. It is a holiday that we should celebrate together, regardless of political views,” MP Giga Parulava, a member of the For Georgia faction, stated.

According to Parulava, they observe Georgia’s Independence Day in harmony with the wider society.

“It is unacceptable to use such important dates for political manoeuvring, dividing society into ‘us’ and ‘them’, and fostering confrontation. We will celebrate May 26 alongside the citizens. The rallies announced by certain groups are part of their own agenda. We believe it is inappropriate to politicise these dates, whether it’s April 9 or May 26. We should come together to mark this day. Using this day for political points is unacceptable, as dividing society benefits no one, neither the country nor its people,” Parulava stated.
