For Georgia's MP Khvedeliani warns against illusions of regime change through false unity and deliberation

“It has been proven time and again that society is ready for change, but this must be achieved peacefully. Politicians should utilise constitutional means to bring about the necessary reforms,” stated MP Tata Khvedeliani, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.

Khvedeliani explained that the political team of the Gakharia for Georgia party has chosen to pursue change through parliamentary means and continues to operate from this platform.

“Regarding the escalation of the political crisis and the pursuit of power through unconstitutional methods, whether through alternative governments, negotiations, or alliances, the public is weary of it all. This cycle has persisted for years. It is crucial to eliminate the nihilism that pervades society, which is only exacerbated by such decisions.

Recognising the steps that have been taken and moving forward is essential, rather than living under the illusion that we can defeat the regime through false unions and mere consultations. The creation of multiple alliances has only strengthened rather than diminished the Georgian Dream. I do not understand why they are choosing this path again, especially after what happened on October 4.

We cannot turn the page on that chapter, because those responsible for that day have left this country in an even worse state, without accepting any accountability. Remaining stuck in the impasse the country faces today is, of course, deeply harmful,” Khvedeliani remarked.
