For Georgia's Khvedeliani: Possibilities for NATO membership evolve, we must continue on Euro-Atlantic path
“The NATO membership accession process has never been straightforward. Circumstances are constantly changing, and what I’ve just outlined is not a final decision; discussions will undoubtedly continue,” Tata Khvedeliani, a member of Gakharia for Georgia party, told GPB First Channel.
Khvedeliani commented on the U.S. National Security Strategy 2025 document.
“The document sends us a clear message: that long-term peace is even more vital globally, including for us. It emphasises that the quality of democracy must be elevated, and we must do everything in our power to see the path begun by our ancestors brought to its ultimate destination. Of course, we need to take successful steps in the Euro-Atlantic direction,” Khvedeliani stated.
The U.S. National Security Strategy 2025, published by the Trump administration on the official White House website, reads that the strategic priority becomes “ending the perception, and preventing the reality, of NATO as a perpetually expanding alliance.”
