For Georgia's Khvedeliani: People are tired of false unity and pseudo-signatures
“People are exhausted by the superficial unity that is being orchestrated, tired of documents signed with pseudo-signatures by these individuals. Any association with the United National Movement is firmly out of the question on our part. We have stated this many times,” said MP Tata Khvedeliani, a member of the political council of the Gakharia for Georgia party.
According to her, the regime cannot be toppled through signatures, declarations, or hollow unity.
“The leaders of the initiative will probably speak more effectively on this matter; I am unable to comment on their specific goals. But I want to emphasise once again: any affiliation with the United National Movement is excluded from our side; this has been made clear repeatedly. People are exhausted by the superficial unity that is being orchestrated, tired of documents signed with pseudo-signatures by these individuals. The current situation in our country is incredibly challenging; fighting against the regime is now more vital than ever. When false expectations are created, it only damages the ultimate goal. We cannot defeat the regime with mere signatures, declarations, or superficial unity; that is not enough. The regime will only be defeated when our struggle is consistent, our stance unwavering, and when all platforms are utilised to oppose and resist the Georgian Dream genuinely.
I do not believe in their next act of false unity, nor do I believe that signing some document will bring about the regime’s downfall,” Tata Khvedeliani explained.
She further stated that today, politics is the true battleground.
“The political process must be revitalised; politics must be returned to its core. Politicians need to be kind, responsible for their actions, and committed to fighting to change the situation that has arisen due to the irresponsibility of the Georgian Dream,” Tata Khvedeliani concluded.
