Food Safety Agency conducts market inspections ahead of Easter

In preparation for the upcoming Easter holiday, the Food Safety Agency is conducting inspections of the consumer market, specifically targeting egg producers, warehousing operators, bakeries, and confectioneries.

The Agency will focus on sanitary and hygienic standards, storage requirements, product expiration dates, and the accuracy of information presented on product labels.

Consumers are strongly urged to refrain from purchasing high-risk products—such as meat, fish, and dairy items—at retailers that do not maintain proper hygiene standards.

“This year, the Agency has inspected 41 egg-producing companies, resulting in one business being fined for failing to register. Additionally, 175 inspections were conducted in confectioneries, revealing ten violations, prompting the Agency to take appropriate legal action,” the Agency reported.
