FM welcomes Parliament's response to MEGOBARI Act, emphasising its significance
Maka Botchorishvili, Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed her appreciation for the Georgian Parliament’s forthcoming stance on the MEGOBARI Act, highlighting the importance of its position.
In her statement, Botchorishvili emphasised the significance of the Georgian legislature engaging with the document recently enacted by the U.S. Congress.
“I welcome the Georgian Parliament’s reaction to the MEGOBARI Act. Naturally, the Parliament’s position on this matter will be crucial and cannot be overlooked. Since the U.S. Congress adopted this act, it is, to some extent, foundational for shaping the future policies of the United States regarding Georgia. Therefore, we must pay close attention to it. The formulation of a clear stance and official statement by the Parliament is, of course, highly welcome,” Botchorishvili stated.
The Parliament of Georgia is expected to adopt an official declaration concerning the MEGOBARI Act. As Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili noted, this statement will include the Parliament’s assessments and response to the legislation.
