FM highlights historic support as UNGA passes Georgia’s Resolution with record backing
The UN General Assembly (UNGA) has adopted a resolution titled “On the Status of Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia, and the Tskhinvali Region/South Ossetia, Georgia.” Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili shared her reaction on social media, emphasizing the exceptional level of global backing.
“An unprecedented number of supporters! A total of 107 countries backed Georgia’s resolution at the 2025 session!
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the nations that co-authored our initiative and supported this significant resolution.
A special thank you to the Georgian Ambassador to the UN, Davit Bakradze, my Deputy Lasha Darsalia, and all the diplomats whose tireless efforts made this historic achievement possible!” said Maka Botchorishvili.
