FM: Gov’t strives for transparent, competitive 2024 parliamentary elections
The Georgian government is interested in holding the 2024 parliamentary elections in a transparent and competitive environment in line with European standards, said Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
According to the FM, Georgia is ready to contribute efficiently to the international election observers’ performance.
“The government of Georgia has repeatedly stated that the 2024 parliamentary elections should be held in line with high European standards, in the most transparent and competitive environment. The Government pledged readiness to support the observers so that they fully exercise their duties in Georgia,” he said.
On February 12, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a letter to Matteo Mecacci, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), inviting election observers for the 2024 parliamentary elections.
