Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili said the government continues the fulfilment of commitments taken before the international partners to advance Georgia’s EU accession process.

“We try our best and take concrete steps to open negotiations with the country for EU membership,” he said.

The Foreign Minister noted that the ruling team communicates with voters, explaining the opponents’ efforts not to have progress on the EU integration path.

“I have no hope that anyone will change. Those who have been harming our country by their actions and efforts, I do not expect them to change for the better. The answer is that we will continue with the reforms agenda, building a European country to achieve the ultimate goal of making Georgia a full member of the European Union,” he said.

General Secretary of the European Democrats party, Mamuka Gamkrelidze told Mtavari Arkhi (Main Channel) that he saw some people “walking door to door” in Brussels telling European partners not to grant Georgia EU candidate country status.
