FM: Georgia and Türkiye are strategically important nations in region and beyond

“Türkiye and Georgia are important countries in the region, holding strategic significance both for our small area and globally,” stated Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili following her meeting with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

According to Botchorishvili, the cooperation between Georgia and Türkiye can play a vital role in the region.

“We share a successful legacy of implementing joint projects that have positively impacted our relations and positioning. This valuable experience should be further leveraged to enhance our collaboration on other significant initiatives. We must focus on larger plans and innovative projects, especially those related to connectivity.

We highly value our relationships with neighbouring countries, as well as their support and partnership. Our cooperation with Türkiye is exemplary, rooted in decades of collaboration. I believe that through our friendship and mutual cooperation, we can further develop the opportunities that Georgia and Türkiye have in the Middle Corridor concerning connectivity.

Türkiye’s regional role is vital in this context, and we are eager to work more closely with our colleagues and friends,” she concluded.
